Yoga Mat Spray
Begin your practice with intention. This beautifully balanced spray cleanses your mat while preparing your mind and body for movement. Bright sweet orange lifts the spirit, lavender soothes the senses, niaouli purifies, and patchouli anchors you to the earth, creating a scent that's both elevating and deeply grounding. Mist your mat before or after practice, close your eyes, and breathe in. Your practice starts here.
Ingredients
10 drops Orange
(Citrus sinensis)
6 drops Niaouli
(Melaleuca quinquenervia ct 1,8 cineole)
8 drops Lavender
(Lavandula angustifolia)
4 drops Patchouli
(Pogostemon cablin)
Solubilizer, see notes
100 g Distilled Water
0.6 g Geoguard ECT, optional but recommended
Directions
Combine oils & solubilizer first: In your 4 oz glass spray bottle, add the essential oils and solubilizer. Swirl thoroughly until mixed.
Add distilled water & Geoguard: Fill the bottle with the distilled water and Geoguard, if using.
Cap and shake: Secure the spray head and shake gently.
Use: Spray onto your mat, wipe with a soft cloth, and allow to air dry before rolling.
Safety Considerations & Warnings
Do not use if pregnant
Suitable for children under the age of 10.
Keep out of reach of children.
Always perform a patch test on your mat before full application to ensure material compatibility.
Formulation Notes
Solubilizers: There are many different types of solubilizers. Always read the directions for the specific one you choose, as the required ratios to water vary.
Polysorbate 20: The most common choice for essential oil sprays; works well with most oils.
Sodium Olivate: A natural emulsifier derived from olive oil.
No Solubilizer? If you don't have a solubilizer, you can still make the spray, but shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to redistribute the essential oils, which will naturally separate from the water over time.
Preservatives:
Without Preservative: Use within 3 months.
With Preservative (e.g., Geogard ECT): Shelf life extends to 6–12 months.
