Preparation Time: 5 Minutes

Cooking Time: 35 Minutes

Serves: 16

Ingredients

2 cups saskatoon berries

1 tbsp olive oil

1 yellow onion, julienne

1 clove garlic, minced

¼ cup raisins, chopped

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

¼ cup honey

Directions

Sauté aromatics

  • In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes soft and translucent (about 5–7 minutes).

Add fruit and liquids

  • Stir in the Saskatoon berries, raisins, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Mix well to combine.

Simmer

  • Reduce heat to low. Cover partially and simmer gently, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the mixture thickens to a jammy consistency (about 30–35 minutes). The berries should burst and the liquid should reduce to a glossy, spreadable texture.

Cool and store

  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer to clean glass jars or containers.
