Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 - 20 Minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
2 cups frozen strawberries
3 tbsp honey
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp rose petals, food grade
Directions
Add the Strawberries
Place 2 cups frozen strawberries and honey straight into a medium‑sized pot.
Heat & Simmer
Set the pot over medium‑low heat.
Stir gently every 20‑30 seconds.
Bring to a gentle simmer (tiny bubbles at the edges).
Cook the Fruit
Continue simmering for 15-20 minutes.
The strawberries will soften, release juices, and the mixture will begin to thicken.
Infuse the Rose
When the fruit is just about done, sprinkle 2 Tbsp edible rose petals over the surface.
Stir lightly for 10–15 seconds to distribute the petals without over‑cooking them.
Cool & Thicken
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Let the compote sit at room temperature for ~5 minutes; it will naturally thicken as it cools.
